What problem does it solve?
People spend hours swiping, then weeks messaging, and often never meet at all. Meanwhile dozens of people who are open to meeting are sitting in the same room at the same time, completely unaware of each other.
What is missing is not people. It is the first move. Nobody says the first sentence because nobody knows who is open to it. That is the exact gap Jeddy closes.
How does it work?
- Discover. People at the same venue who are active right now appear on your phone.
- Match. You like someone. If they like you back, you match instantly. A one-sided like is never revealed to the other person.
- Play. A quick round of Rock Paper Scissors breaks the ice.
- Meet. The loser buys the drink, and a hot-and-cold radar guides you to each other through the crowd.
There is also a group mode: someone opens a group room, other people at the same venue join, and everyone plays together. Meeting people does not have to be one-on-one.
Who is it for?
For anyone who wants a bigger social circle: people who just moved to a new city, students starting university or an English course, people who go to festivals and gigs on their own, and anyone who would rather meet in person than spend weeks messaging.
Especially for people who want to:
- Socialise with everyone they can see. The people at your venue are no longer out of reach.
- Meet groups, not just individuals. Spot a room that already exists nearby and join it.
- Invite people into their own group. Open your own room, pick the topic and call over the people you like.
How is it different from dating apps?
Traditional apps match you with people anywhere in the city and leave the meeting part to messaging. Jeddy only shows people who are in the same place as you right now, and the whole flow is built to end in a face-to-face hello.
There is another difference: Jeddy is not only for dating. Making friends, joining a group or building a social circle in a new city are equally valid ways to use it.
Why is there no long messaging?
Because the point is not to talk on a screen, it is to actually meet. You are already in the same room, a few metres apart. Weeks of messaging make no sense. That is what the game is for: it takes the burden of the first sentence off you and leaves you with something to talk about when you meet.
Our approach to safety
- Daily photo. Profiles show how someone looks today, not months ago. It is the most practical deterrent against fake profiles.
- Shy mode. You can signal interest quietly. A match only happens when both sides want it, so there is no public rejection moment.
- Report and block in one tap. If someone bothers you, it ends immediately.
- Location privacy. Your exact address or precise location is never shared. Only the fact that you are at the same venue is used.
What stage is the app at?
The core of the app is working. The discovery screen, mutual matching, the Rock Paper Scissors game, the meetup radar, group rooms and the keepsake receipt are all built. We are now in testing and store preparation.
The waitlist decides where we launch first. Because Jeddy connects people at the same venue, density is everything: whichever city has the most people on the list is where Jeddy opens first. Signing up is not just asking for news, it is putting your city in the queue.
